*Sigh..Living in the Lap of Luxury

At about 12:30 today, my boss surprised me by saying "Nate, we're all going to Gladstone's for lunch!". Initially, in my mind i was like "Kewl..This saves myself from eating two oranges, some cookies, and a bananna for lunch" (i'm poor, okay!? get over it). But after that i was like "awh man...now i gotta make small talk/converse with older and more intelligent people who i really have nothing in common with".

Anyway, so the four of us(my two supervisors and the ceo - it's a small company) are on our way there and they're talking about usual business stuff...i chimed in every now and then in my usual "un-hip" talk that use when speaking to white/people i percieve to be higher on the society ladder.....and i don't know if this was just a simple product of me being younger and having less time to accumulate the same finances that these folks do, but after awhile our convo made me feel kinda felt street rat-ish. For example, two of my boss' i would guess grew up richer (richer than i at least) because they were talking about how their parents own businesses, restaurants, etc. Then the big boss was like well my son is gonna be a doctor and so on. They didn't necessarily say this but it felt like "So how about you, Nate?" and sshhiieett...what's a n-word like me suppossed to say?! "Uh, shiet i don't know..i'm dj-ing tomorrow".

And then we decided to take PCH back. Needless to say it's kinda hood. Not too hood. But they made some small subliminal comments on the the place. Most of which i would agree to. But it's like damn man i just live like two miles from here! i must be - as Alladin says - a street rat, at least to the eyes of these people. You know what i mean? Cause if the people from around there look hood, then i must look like a class hoodlum too! All the while this was happening in my boss' Benz. Eehh...that's it.

The class separation felt a little apparent there for one of the few times in my life. But i guess there's only one thing to do. Just change that shiet, right!? Anyway, have a good weekend, guys. I think i'm gonna put up my old blogs from Myspace since it seems they get deleted after a while so enjoy.
